Questions & Answers

Q. What if I want a different type of seat or gas tank?

A.- No problem, the P-40 motorcycle trike was created with this in mind. All of us have our own innovative ideas we would like to express in design. Any aftermarket seat, gas tank, etc which will fit a H.D. type frame or any other heavy duty frame, feel free to use. Thats what makes a three wheeler so versatile

Q. If I already have a donor Volkswagen Beetle, how much would it cost to build the P-40 motorcycle trike?

A. Substantially less, as fully 50% of all the parts needed you will already have. (Note)Savings can be had on the rest of the parts needed by shopping on craigslist.com, swap meets for M/C parts, garage sales and cycle shops all across the country. Remember, you need not buy new gear. Just GOOD equipment. And NOTHING you do is written in stone! Be creative! Half the fun of the P-40 is building it! We do however suggest on our three wheeler design keep our airshock system as its great for long haul comfort!

Q.-What about welding?

A. Welding is kept to the utmost minimum in consideration of cost. Approx four hours are needed to jig rig and mate the frames correctly (As shown by our copyrighted method) in the plans/photos. This should only be done by an expert welder.

Q. What about electrical wiring?

A. On three wheeled vehicles the electrical system is not at all difficult.  And   we supply wiring diagrams in our kit.

Q. I noticed no shift lever in the photos. Why is that?

A. The manual shift lever is interchangeable with either side, as well as handbrake, twistgrip, etc. But, we normally recommend a left side shifter. There are some bikers who are impaired for various reasons, hence the flexibility. We might add that however, we do not supply plans for this, there are two separate types of automatic transmissions that are adaptable as well.
